Select Veterinary Diets Hypoallergenic is a formula low in  allergenic elements made from few ingredients, not often used as pet-food.

ONE ANIMAL PROTEIN

Select VD Hypoallergenic contains a sole source of animal-based protein: duck (not commonly found in pet-foods). This reduces the chance of causing allergic reactions.

85% DUCK & RICE

Select VD Hypoallergenic has been created with a reduced variety of ingredients (duck and rice account for 85% of the formula), all of these selected for being generally almost allergen free.

LOW ALLERGEN

Aside from being generally almost allergen free, Select VD Hypoallergenic is rich in DHA extracted from Krill to help to reduce cellular inflammation and allergic reactions.

KRILL AS A SOURCE OF DHA

DHA (or docosahexaenoic acid) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid similar to Omega 3 (PUFA-ω3) that offers an anti-inflammatory and stimulating function (1). Diets enriched with PUFA-ω3 significantly reduce symptoms of pruritus and atopy (2) and the reduction of diarrhoea caused by chronic enteropathies (3). Krill is particularly rich in PUFA-ω3 linked to phospholipids, easier to assimilate and more effective than those linked to triglycerides (4).

WHEAT RICH IN NUCLEOTIDES

Nucleotides have a positive immunological effect, especially in scenarios of physiological stress (6). Animals whose diets are supplemented with nucleotides show greater levels of humoral and cellular immunity, with higher survival rates following an infection of certain pathogens (7).

A SINGLE SOURCE OF ANIMAL

Composition

Rice (48%), Dehydrated duck (28%), Duck fat, Beet pulp, Carob, Hydrolysed duck, Krill, Yeast, Minerals, Prebiotic MOS, Prebiotic FOS, Green Tea extract (200 mg/kg).
