External Antiparasitic Vectra 3D . Pipettes for dogs >40 kg
Indications
Treatment and prevention of flea infestation ( Ctenocephalides felis yCtenocephalides canis ) . Treatment prevents flea infestations for one month. It also prevents the multiplication of fleas for two months after application by inhibiting the hatching of eggs ( ovicidal activity) and by inhibition of adult emergence from eggs laid by adult fleas ( larvicidal activity ) .
The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of the treatment strategy of allergic dermatitis from the bite of fleas ( FAD).
Has persistent acaricidal and repellent efficacy against tick infestations ( Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for a month, and Dermacentor reticulatus up to three weeks).
If ticks are present when the drug is applied , it may not all ticks die in the first 48 hours , but within the week . For removal of ticks is recommended that a suitable extraction device ticks.
Provides persistent repellent activity . Prevents bites sandflies ( Phlebotomus perniciosus ) , mosquitoes (Culex pipiens , Aedes aegypti) and for one month after application . The treatment also provides persistent insecticidal activity for a month against mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti) and stable fly ( Stomoxys calcitrans ) .
Composition:
Each 8 ml pipette containing dinotefuran 436 mg , 38.7 mg and 3175 mg of pyriproxyfen permethrin .
Excipentes : N - octyl-2 - and N - metilpirrilidona pirrilidona .
Target species : Dogs .
Dosage and Administration
Spot-on . The recommended minimum dose is 6.4 mg of Dinotefuran / kg, 0.6 mg of pyriproxyfen / kg and 46.6 mg permethrin / kg, equivalent to 0.12 ml of the veterinary medicinal kg.
If your dog weighs > 40 kg corresponds to 8 ml pipette
Following a single administration the drug will prevent infestation for a month. The treatment can be repeated once a month .
Contraindications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or to any of the excipients .
Do not use in cats. Because of their unique physiology and inability to metabolize permethrin, this veterinary medicinal product must not be used in cats. If applied to a cat, or cat ingests by licking a recently treated dog, this product may have serious harmful effects.
Special precautions for use
Not studied the safety of this veterinary medicinal product in puppies under 7 weeks of age or dogs weighing less than 1.5 kg .
Contact with the veterinary medicinal dog eyes should be avoided. It can not be excluded that some isolated after treatment accede tick . For this reason, it can not completely exclude the transmission of infectious diseases if the conditions are
favorable.
The veterinary medicinal product remains effective when the treated animals immersed in water (eg swimming or in the bath ) . Water immersion , repeated weekly for a month beginning 48 hours after the treatment, shampooing and 2 weeks after treatment , do not affect the efficacy of this drug . However, in the case of frequent shampooing, bathing or 48 hours after treatment , the duration of activity may be reduced.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the veterinary medicinal product.
Wash hands immediately after use .
This veterinary medicinal product is irritating to eyes and skin.
Avoid contact with skin medication .
In case of accidental spillage on the skin, wash immediately with soap and water.
If the veterinary medicinal product accidentally comes into contact with eyes, rinse with water.
If irritation to the eyes or skin persists, or if accidentally swallowed the medicine , seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label.
People with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product.
Children should not come in contact with dogs treated for at least four hours after drug administration. It is therefore recommended to treat dogs in the evening, or before taking a walk . The day of treatment, should not be allowed dogs sleep with their owners , especially children. Applicators used must be removed immediately and should not be left in view or within reach of children.
Wait until the application area is dry before allowing the treated dog comes in contact with fabrics or furniture.
Rarely has observed transient erythema , pruritus or signs of discomfort in the
application, which usually disappear spontaneously within 24 hours after drug administration .
Rarely were observed gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.
Rarely were observed transient cosmetic effects ( wet look , spiky hair matted ) in the application area , usually not observed after 48 hours.
The frequency of adverse events classified under the following groups:
- Very often ( more than 1 animal per 10 presents adverse reactions during a
treatment )
- Frequently ( more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 100 )
- Infrequently ( more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 1,000 )
- Rarely ( more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 10,000 )
- Very rarely (less than 1 per 10,000 animals , including isolated cases).
Use during pregnancy , lactation or lay
Not The safety of the veterinary medicinal bitches during gestation and lactation. The use of the veterinary drug in pregnant or lactating bitches or in dogs intended for breeding should be based on individual benefit / risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian.
Laboratory studies conducted with each of the components, Dinotefuran , or permethrin pyriproxyfen in rats and rabbits have not shown toxic to the fetus , or toxic to the mother teratogenic effects.
It has been seen that the Dinotefuran crosses the blood - milk barrier and is excreted in the milk.
It has been found that N- methylpyrrolidone , one of the excipients of the medicinal product, is teratogenic in laboratory animals .
