Cosequin Advanced for Cats

COSEQUIN® ADVANCED GATOS is a complementary food recommended for animals with joint problems due to their advanced age, after joint surgery or post-traumatic joint disorders.

Chondroitin sulfate is a fundamental component of the cartilage matrix, and is the main responsible for its proper hydration. It is basic for maintaining the elasticity and flexibility of the joint, minimizing the degradation of it. Glucosamine increases the synthesis of matrix components by cartilage cells, especially in senior animals. The synergistic action of chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine provides double potency to this chondroprotector. Manganese helps optimize the production of cartilage components.

Composition:
Each capsule of COSEQUIN® ADVANCED GATOS contains:
Glucosamine HCl * 125 mg
Chondroitin sulfate * 100 mg **
Starch

Other ingredients:
Manganese sulfate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, carrageenan.

Posology and method of administration:
COSEQUIN® ADVANCED GATOS comes in capsules with palatable powder.
To facilitate ingestion by the animal, the capsules of COSEQUIN® ADVANCED GATOS are designed to be able to open and empty their contents on the food of the animal. If the animal eats dry food, it should be lightly moistened with water so that the powder adheres well. You can also mix the contents of the capsules with a small amount of moist food, to make sure that the animal ingests all its contents.

Initial period:
It is recommended to administer daily for 4-6 weeks. The administration can be done in 1 single shot per day, following the administration guide:
<5 kg: 1 capsule per day
> 5 kg: 2 capsules per day

Maintenance period:
Once the desired response has been obtained, to maintain the condition of the animal for long periods of time, the initial dose of capsules can be reduced by half, or administered on alternate days (day yes, day no). The number of capsules administered may be increased at any time depending on the needs of the cat or on the recommendation of the veterinarian.

Correct conservation of the urinary bladder:
The inner lining of the urinary bladder is protected by a layer that contains glycosaminoglycans (such as chondroitin sulfate), which are also found in cartilage. This layer helps to waterproof and protect the inner lining of the bladder.
There is favorable evidence for its administration in cases of idiopathic cystitis.
