MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) are the reason for the "special abilities" of coconut oil and the versatility in its use.
The body can disintegrate medium chain triglycerides into monoglycerides and free fatty acids easily and does not need either bile acid or lipase from the pancreas (pancreas enzyme) for this purpose. They are reabsorbed directly from the stomach and small intestine into the blood and transported to the liver where it immediately energizes, without having to take the path through the lymphatic system.
