Description
Probing is the safest and cleanest way to provide porridge.
The different diameters of probes allow to supply the papilla to the diverse species of psitácidos at each moment of its development. Thus, for example, for gray parrots the 5 ml probe is suitable for the delivery of porridge to babies up to 7 days of life. The 10 ml probe, for babies up to 14 days old. The 20, until 4 weeks of life. From the month it is advisable to use the 50 ml probe.
Let's take the example of the nymphs, the probe to be used when they start to shoot cannons, at which time the chicks are usually removed from the nest, is the 10 ml. Next we will be useful the 20 ml.
Hygiene protocol
For a correct maintenance and hygiene of the probes, after each use we must:
- Fill a container with hot water, a little detergent and a few drops of bleach.
- Aspirate and discard the obtained mixture 3-4 times.
- Aspirate the liquid until filling a quarter of the capacity of the body of the probe and fill the rest of air by stretching the plunger to the maximum.
- Shake vigorously by holding the latex probe to prevent liquid from flowing out.
- Discard and repeat the process until there are no remains of porridge inside the probe.
- Finally rinse with plenty of water and let dry.
It is important not to leave the probe soaking with disinfectant because the latex is damaged.
