Zen Tablets are formulated with Cannabis and a mixture of natural ingredients that help reduce the signs associated with stress and anxiety and promote a calm and relaxed state of mind in dogs and cats.

It is ideal for animals that suffer from anxiety, fear and phobias due to various causes, such as loud noises, family separation, travel, moving, visits to the veterinary clinic, changes in routines, arrival of new family members, etc.

How to use:
• Cats, dogs <10 kg: 1/2 tablet per day
• Dogs 10 – 25 kg: 1 tablet per day
• Dogs 25-40 kg: 2 tablets a day
• Dogs >40 kg: 3 tablets per day
Administer with food. It can be used short or long term, as well as increasing the amount according to the needs of the animal.

Managing stress and anxiety in dogs and cats:

In unfavorable or dangerous situations, animals generate a series of physiological, psychological and behavioral changes to increase their state of activation and thus be able to face this situation: it is stress. When it occurs in a timely manner, stress can be positive and allows you to react to situations that require a response, but if it becomes chronic or excessively intense, it can trigger health problems at the digestive, behavioral, immune and skin levels, among others.

Stress often also generates a certain degree of anxiety, an anticipation of potentially dangerous, imagined or unknown stimuli, which can generate unwanted reactions such as hyperactivity, rigid posture, urination, destruction of objects or excessive barking and whining. Likewise, these signs can be observed in cases of fear, when dogs and cats have a response to stimuli identified as threatening; or phobias, persistent and maladaptive fears that are out of proportion to the triggering stimulus.

The causes that most frequently affect the behavior of pets are separation from the owner, fear of loud noises and the presence of new pets or unknown people. If not managed correctly, these problems cause imbalances and problems, added to a reduction in the quality of the bond with humans and an increase in the probability of abandonment 3. It is therefore key to immediately identify and correct the situation causing the stress to minimize suffering and recover the quality of life of dogs, cats and cohabiting people.

The behavior is given by the temperament, the hormonal levels and the experiences that the animal has been acquiring throughout its life. Similarly, the central nervous system is closely connected to the gastrointestinal tract: it is popularly known as the gut-brain axis. In this sense, we are very clear about the influence of stress on the gastrointestinal tract: threatening situations can cause diarrhoea, vomiting or intestinal dysbiosis, but the microbiota and the intestine also play an important role in maintaining normal psychological and neurological function. Multiple evidence suggests that stress and anxiety can be reduced through modulation of the intestinal flora and diet.

For all these reasons, mental health management must also take into account gastrointestinal health and the state of the microbiota.
