Cardio Fortex 60 tablets
Helps heart function in processes hypertension, dilated cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure. Recommended as cardiac protector against doxorubicin toxicity anticancer therapies. Support in the treatment of feline hepatic lipidosis and in the treatment of seizures.
Composition:
L-carnitine, 425 mg.
Taurine, 425 mg.
Indications:
- The Carnitine facilitates the entry of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria of the cardiac muscle cells. Useful as a nutritional aid in congestive heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy. Has protective effects in toxic cardiomyopathy, especially that induced by doxorubicin. Appears to minimize the risk of myocardial ischemia in dogs. Is also used as an adjunct in the treatment of feline hepatic lipidosis.
- The Taurine amino acid with antioxidant used as nutritional support in heart failure and hypertension. Taurine has been shown to increase median survival time in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. It has been demonstrated in dogs with dilated cardiomyopathy, the clinical improvement taurine administered dose of 450 mg. every 12 hours. Effective in treating canine nutritional cardiomyopathy, Taurine deficiency. In cats, taurine is essential for the functioning of the heart, brain and eyes. Deficiency can lead to blindness central retinal degeneration, cardiomyopathy. Low levels also induce reproductive alterations and growth in kittens. It has been found useful as adjunctive anticonvulsant therapy in small animals.
Dosage:
Oral use.
Dogs and cats.
1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight every 12 hours.
Recommended period of use: Up to 6 months initially.
