What is merino wool?
Merino wool is a natural product and a particularly high-quality form of
Virgin wool. It is obtained from merino sheep and is characterized by its
Special delicacy and softness.
The main properties and advantages of Merino:
- Does not smell (even after prolonged use) and therefore needs to be washed less frequently
- It is sustainable and a renewable material.
- Does not charge electrostatically (unlike synthetic materials)
- Insulates well in cold and also in heat.
- Transports moisture
- Can absorb up to a third of its dry weight in moisture without feeling sticky
- Cooled by evaporative cooling to warm temperatures
- Insulates even when wet
- Keeps fit and hardly wrinkles
- It has a natural sun protection factor of up to factor 50 (depending on density and fabric)
