Eear Cleaner Otifree
Ear Cleaner enriched with calendula for dogs and cats.
Pharmacological properties :
Calendula has the following properties :
- Moisture : Softens , moisturizes and increases the resistance of the epidermis.
- Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory surface : Limit bacterial growth because it contains flavonoids and carotenoids, precursors of vitamin A ( antioxidant ) .
- Healing : No risk in ears / ears with superficial wounds or abrasions .
Propylene glycol has therapeutic properties, and allows the removal of dirt, earwax and excessive secretions . It has keratolytic action and restores optimum hydration rate maintained in the epidermis of the ear , besides reducing the odor itself otitis .
General characteristics : pH 6.8.
Composition:
100 milliliters of solution contain : Marigold Extract (50 %) 3 g , 40 g propylene glycol 1.2 ; cremophor EL 5 g , 0.28 g basil oil , water qs 100 ml .
Interactions and incompatibilities : Do not present any kind of interaction with local treatments for otitis externa .
Indications and species of destination: Dogs and Cats: Cleaning the outer ear ( ear canal ) of dogs and cats. Promotes epithelialization . Calendula is used as a wound cleanser and cures in cases of minor injuries.
Contraindications: Use with caution in cases of tympanic perforation.
Dosage:
- Fill the ear canal with the solution and gently massage the flexible area of the base of the ear upward , so that the liquid to move up and down and dirt particles to loosen the outer ear , causing them to surface . The intensity of the massage should be adapted to the sensitivity of the ear . After the massage, clean fluid comes out of the ear with a cotton ball or gauze .
