The electric shepherd model must be chosen according to:

- Temporality: We will use it for temporary, semi-temporary or permanent fences.
- Power supply: If the model must be powered with line current (conventional electrical network) or produced through rechargeable batteries, a battery or 12-volt battery, or if the power will be from solar energy.
- Type of animal: The choice will also depend on the type of animal that we want to control, or if what we want to preserve are gardens or special agricultural plantations.
- Type of terrain: if they are dry, sandy or stony soils, a more powerful shepherd will be advisable than in humid terrain and a better installation of earth.
- Length of the fence: The longer the fence we will need a more powerful shepherd.

Comfortable to transport, ideal shepherd for short distance mobile fences (100 or 200 meters), and docile animals, sensitive to fences and not very nervous. It is mainly used for cats and dogs.
