Where are ROS generated?
• ROS are generated by macrophages, such as Kupff er cells, which are the macrophages that reside in the liver.

• Hydrophobic bile acids can disrupt cell membranes and release ROS during processing
• Injured hepatocytes and stellate cells can also produce ROS.
